For the past five days I volunteered to help put on one of the largest outdoor sculpture events in the country. I drove gators moving artwork. I monitored tents, allowing artists to take breaks. I answered questions, took photos, served food – whatever needed to be done.
My reward was getting to meet, up close and personal, some Capital A Artists. Really good ones. Ones who make a living and who have a following. And, without exception, the people I met were interesting, passionate, committed. Don’t you love meeting people who LOVE what they do? I certainly do.
Today I am tired, full, and a little sad. The Sculptors have gone back to their studios. It’s a whole year before they will come back. But I am more than a little inspired to commit, again, to doing the things I love.
